James Wolk Joins USA Network's 'Political Animals'
The "Lone Star" actor will play Doug in the summer series from Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark.

James Wolk is heading to D.C.
The former Lone Star lead has joined USA Network's six-hour political drama series Political Animals from Greg Berlanti and Laurence Mark, The Hollywood Reporter confirms.
Slated to launch this summer, Animals revolves around Elaine Barrish, a divorced former First Lady and current Secretary of State, who is struggling to keep her family together while dealing with conflicts of the State Department.

Wolk, who has recently guest starred on Showtime's Shameless and ABC's Happy Endings, will play one of Elaine's sons, Doug, also serving as her chief of staff.
Berlanti will write and direct the pilot, in addition to executive producing with Mark. Melissa Kellner Berman will co-executive produce.
Animals comes from Berlanti Productions and Laurence Mark Productions in association with Warner Horizon Television.
Wolk, repped by WME, headlined the ABC pilot Georgetown last year, also set in the nation's capital. He co-stars in the big-screen comedy For a Good Time, Call, opposite Ari Graynor.
