Jane Lynch is ready to explore her dramatic side.

The Glee grad and Hollywood Game Night host has been tapped to co-star in Discovery's scripted drama Manifesto, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Produced by Kevin Spacey and Dana Brunetti's Trigger Street and Lionsgate Television, the eight-episode series tells the story of how FBI agent Jim "Fitz" Fitzgerald (Sam Worthington) captured Ted "The Unabomber" Kaczynski (Paul Bettany), one of the most infamous criminal masterminds in the world.

Lynch will take on the role of former U.S. Attorney General Janet Reno. At 57, Reno was the first woman to serve as attorney general.

Lynch, who has won two Emmys for hosting NBC game show Hollywood Game Night as well as a Golden Globe for her supporting work on Fox's Glee, joins a cast that also includes Chris Noth (The Good Wife). He is set as Don Ackerman, the Bay Area divisional head of the FBI, who supervised the Unabomber Task Force. Keisha Castle-Hughes co-stars as Fitz's partner, Tabby.

John Goldwyn produces and serves as a consultant on the scripted original. Production begins Jan. 30 with Greg Yaitanes (Quarry, Banshee) set as showrunner. He will also direct the project, whose script was penned by co-showrunner Andrew Sodroski (who has also written half the episodes) and exec produces. Jim Fitzgerald serves as consulting producer.

Lynch is repped by UTA and Hansen Jacobson.
