Jay Leno is returning to Tonight.

The former host of the NBC late-night show will be back in its studio on Friday night for the first time since passing the baton to Jimmy Fallon, reports the Associated Press. (Though he made a cameo in Fallon's parody "House of Cue Cards" earlier this year, the upcoming episode will mark his first in-studio appearance as a guest.)

Fallon previously noted that he'd love to have Leno as a guest: "I told Jay, I gave him a round-trip ticket to New York. … The stage is his, so whenever he wants, he's got a stage."

Leno recently accepted the Mark Twain Prize for American Humor in Washington in a ceremony that will be televised on PBS on Nov. 23. He also signed on for the upcoming CNBC series Jay Leno's Garage.

Lucy Liu and Kevin Delaney also will appear on the Tonight episode on Friday.
