'Jersey Shore's' Vinny Guadagnino Lands MTV Talk Show
He'll host the series from his Staten Island home, with guests breaking bread with his family.
MTV has set the third spinoff from Jersey Shore.
The cable network has tapped Vinny Guadagnino to host The Show With Vinny, a talk show centered on the sensitive member of its reality franchise, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.
The series will feature Guadagnino breaking bread with celebrities at his Staten Island home -- complete with his mother Paula and Uncle Nino, among others -- as he blends conversation with his colorful kin.
Like Jersey Shore, TheShow With Vinny hails from executive producer SallyAnn Salsano and MTV's Jacquelyn French. It follows Jersey Shore spinoffs Snooki & JWoww as well as The Pauly D Project at the network.
"Vinny's unique mix of humor, intelligence, curiosity and heart make him the perfect choice for this genre busting take on the interview format," said Chris Linn, MTV executive vp programming and head of production. "As the lives of the Jersey Shore cast evolve, we are excited to explore new ground while still delivering the laughs and surprises that fans have come to expect from the franchise."
MTV announced in August that it would end Jersey Shore following its sixth-season run, which is scheduled to wrap in December. Earning consistently strong ratings throughout its five-season run, the show peaked in late 2011 at nearly 9 million viewers and pulled in cable's best numbers among adults 18-49. The most recent run bowed to 7.6 million viewers, still blowing the rest of the network's slate out of the water.
Snooki & JWoww, despite its soft bow compared with Jersey Shore, was renewed for a second season after launching to 2.4 million viewers and a 1.1 rating among adults 18-49 in June.)
EW first reported the news.
