Comedy Central is adding to its late-night offerings.

Writer, actor and stand-up comedian Jim Jefferies has been tapped to host a weekly late-night talk show on the cable network, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

The as-yet untitled 10-episode series will debut in the summer and feature Jefferies taking on culture, politics and more.

Jefferies, Scott Zabielski and Brillstein Entertainment Partners' Alex Murray and Tim Sarkes will executive produce, with Jason Reich (The Daily Show With Jon Stewart, Full Frontal With Samantha Bee) on board as co-executive producer and head writer. Monika Zielinska and Adam Londy will oversee for Comedy Central.

"Jim has a huge comedic voice on the global stage," Comedy Central president Kent Alterman said Friday in a statement. “During development, we also learned his talent is only surpassed by his incredible work ethic.”

The Australian comic recently wrapped his second Netflix comedy special and is fresh off an international stand-up tour. In addition to writing and creating FX comedy Legit, Jefferies has starred in multiple comedy specials for networks including HBO. A premiere date for the new show has not yet been determined.

For Comedy Central, word of Jefferies' late-night show comes seven months after opting to cancel Larry Wilmore's The Nightly Show. The Viacom-owned cable network, one of the conglomerate's six core areas of focus for new CEO Bob Bakish, is still working to develop a series to pair with Trevor Noah's The Daily Show. The cabler's late-night lineup also includes Chris Hardwick's interactive topical game show, @midnight.

Jefferies' series comes as former Daily Show correspondent Samantha Bee has found success with her own weekly late-night show on TBS.
