John Cena Aggressively Endorses Jimmy Kimmel for Vice President
John Cena stopped by Jimmy Kimmel Live! on Wednesday night to announce his support for the late-night host as the country’s next vice president.
Kimmel unveiled his plans to run for vp in May and has been trying to get all of the endorsements he can since then. After Kimmel vowed on the show that when he’s vp, "there won’t be any emails to read" (unlike Hillary Clinton) because he’ll communicate only via Snapchat, and boasted that he’s already been endorsed by Oprah Winfrey, the president of CVS drug stores, Rob Gronkowski and Courtney Love, the WWE star joined him at the podium for an enthusiastic speech.
Cena strongly endorsed Kimmel, proud that the host has "100 percent of the vote with no opponents!"
"I don’t think this audience or the people at home realize what a big-ass accomplishment this is!" he yelled, adding that Kimmel is a "great candidate, and an even greater man."
Kimmel tried to interrupt to calm him down, but Cena insisted that "it’s a big deal!"
"This man entertains millions of people, pays his taxes, eats hot dogs and lights off fireworks with his teeth! It doesn’t get more American than that!"
And finally, before overturning the podium in a fit of excitement, Cena yelled, "This is our man, Jimmy Jefferson Kimmel, the next vice president of the United States of America! If you don’t vote for Jimmy Kimmel for vp, I will personally give each and every one of you the attitude adjustment that you deserve!”
"That seemed unnecessary to me ..." Kimmel calmly said, calling Cena an American hero.
Next up for that American hero is the ESPY Awards, where Cena will serve as host on July 13.
