John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John Reunite on 'Ellen' (Video)
The "Grease" co-stars talk about reuniting to raise money for charity with a collection of holiday covers.
"Summer Lovin'" may have had them a blast, but John Travolta and Olivia Newton-John are teaming up this winter to give back. The Grease duo dishes to Ellen DeGeneres about their recently released holiday album This Christmas and the charities the record will benefit.
"For the record, we did it over three months, and then of course, we had these gorgeous guest stars -- Barbra Streisand, James Taylor, Tony Bennett, Cliff Richard, Chick Corea and Kenny G," Travolta tells the talk show host. "All the proceeds go to our charities and they knew that, so once we told them that, I think it even was more impetus to help us."
Proceeds from the album -- which features 12 classic covers and a duet called "I Think You Might Like It" by John Farrar, who wrote Grease's "You're the One That I Want" -- will be split between the stars' two charities.
STORY: John Travolta, Olivia Newton-John Releasing 'This Christmas' Album
"I’ve been working on it for 10 years and it just opened last July, and I’m very proud," says Newton-John of The Olivia Newton-John Cancer and Wellness Center in her native Australia.
Travolta has established The Jett Travolta Foundation in honor of his late son.
"Autism and seizures are the least known-about areas of illnesses, and I feel bad that there’s so many people dealing with this and there's no answers for," he says. "Plus, I widened it. It's also for handicapped children and the handicapped Olympics; it's also for underprivileged children. I widened my purpose a bit there too."
The actor also sticks around to help DeGeneres surprise her audience with Day 3 of "The 12 Days of Giveaways." Watch the clip below:
