Barbara Walters Reveals 'Most Fascinating' Details, Makes Kardashian Dig on 'Letterman'
The longtime ABC newswoman also explained her reasoning for putting Donald Trump on this year's list: "They day after someone else is elected [he's] still going to be saying that he's a candidate."
Barbara Walters' 10 Most Fascinating People of 2011 special airs Wednesday night, and Tuesday, the newswoman appeared on David Letterman's late-night show to promote her picks.
This year's group consists of the Kardashian family, Simon Cowell, Donald Trump, Derek Jeter, Katy Perry, Pippa Middleton, Modern Family stars Eric Stonestreet and Jesse Tyler Ferguson and former presidential candidate Herman Cain.
But, Letterman had some beef with a few of Walter's choices.
"Why is Donald Trump on the list?" he quipped.
"Because whatever you think of him, the man is fascinating," Walters explained. "The day after someone else is elected, Donald Trump is still going to be saying that he's the candidate." She also said she pulled his hair to see if it was real.
Letterman then asked if it meowed.
It was Walters who appeared to have a little issue with others on her list: the Kardashians.
"They were the first ones that we interviewed, and we did them in September," she revealed. We said 'Anything going to happen?' 'No, no, no. No, you can do us now because nothing's going to happen.' Then Kim gets married, then Kourtney gets pregnant, then Khloe's moving to Dallas. You cannot trust the Kardashians."
Letterman also ventured a guess as to who her not-yet-announced No. 1 Most Fascinating was. And he was right.
