Kate Gosselin on How Life Changed on 'Kate Plus 8'
"I know that I'm glad to be divorced and on my own," she says of ex husband Jon Gosselin.
Kate Gosselin's life has changed over the past few years, as documented on her recently-canceled TLC reality show, Kate Plus 8 -- and before that, with her ex husband on Jon and Kate Plus 8.
But she wouldn't change anything.
"I know that I'm glad to be divorced and on my own," Kate says in a clip on People.com from Monday's episode. The last episode airs on Sept. 12.
"I wouldn't change my marriage because I have eight awesome kids that I would not change," she goes on. "But people change and they're not who you thought they were and if they're not for you, move on. And I have."
As for Jon, "I don't care if his girlfriends change weekly, yearly, monthly. I don't give it a second thought … more power to him."
She says their interactions are strictly limited to talking about their eight children.
"Unless I have to deal with him with the kids, I don't, which is good because it keeps the peace," she says. "I've always emailed, called or texted, whatever – just about the kids, the best for the kids."
While she will continue to appear in TLC specials and occasionally on the Today show to remain in show business, her husband has moved on to a construction job.
"He's working now, so he's definitely distracted elsewhere, which is good," she says. "And he's kept to his two weekends a month. And the kids come home happy, and that's good."
TLC announced Monday it was canceling Kate Plus 8 after 150 episodes, which they called "an exceptional milestone."
