Heigl, whose NBC drama State of Affairs premieres Nov. 17, told fans during a Facebook Q&A that she has some regrets about the way she has acted in the past.

When a fan asked about rumors that Heigl is "very rude," Heigl said she has also heard people say that, but she doesn't feel this is a fair assessment of her. "Of course, just like any human being, I've made mistakes and unwittingly or carelessly spoken or acted, but I always try to make any wrong right," she said.

Heigl added that she stands up for herself and asks "to be treated kindly and respectfully, but I don't do that with any rude or unkind intentions, just with the same strength and honesty I think every one of us is entitled to."

Another fan asked Heigl if she would ever return to Grey's Anatomy, where she played Izzie for the hospital drama's first six seasons before exiting amid reported tension. Heigl said she was "so incredibly grateful" to Grey's fans but that she has "moved on to tell more and different stories."

In a cover story for The Hollywood Reporter last month, Grey's creator, Shonda Rhimes, referenced the messy split by saying that her show Scandal has a "no assholes" policy and that "there are no Heigls" among the tight-knit cast.
