The list is titled "Top 10 Reasons to Watch the New 'Countdown With Keith Olbermann'" on Current TV.

A day after his Current TV show premiered, Countdown host Keith Olbermann went on CBS' Late Show With David Letterman to present the Top 10 list -- and drum up more viewership for his show.
The list, titled "Top Ten Reasons to Watch the New Countdown With Keith Olbermann," will air on Tuesday night's Late Show episode (which was taped earlier in the day).

No. 3: I just hired [Late Show's] Paul Shaffer as my musical director -- sorry, Dave.
No 2: Better watch now because things could go wrong in a hurry.

Olbermann abruptly departed MSNBC in January and hasn't been on a regular TV show since. His Monday premiere averaged 179,000 viewers in news' target demo of adults 25-54, according to numbers supplied by Current. That's a marked boost for the network, which averaged 30,000 viewers in primetime for the first quarter.
Countdown also beat CNN's Eliot Spitzer-hosted In the Arena at p.m. (89,000 viewers in the demo) but lost out to MSNBC's Last Word with Lawrence O'Donnell (237,000). Still, Current TV is in far fewer households than MSNBC (60 million vs. 95 million).
Countdown airs at 8 p.m. weeknights, and Olbermann on Monday revealed that the show would run a few minutes over every night into the 9 p.m. hour, potentially eating into the ratings of MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, his one-time mentee.
