Lady Gaga Reveals 'Dream' of Working With Woody Allen
In an interview on “The Ellen DeGeneres Show,” the pop star says that she would like to star in one of the filmmaker’s movies.
It’s only a matter of time before Lady Gaga expands her empire from the music biz to the big screen, but don’t expect her to sell out for a big budget mindless rom-com.

“I guess my dream would be to be in a Woody Allen movie or something,” she says on The Ellen DeGeneres Show. “That would sort of be my dream.”
The singer, whose birth name is Stefani Joanne Angelina Germanotta, has a small background in acting already, having played a very minor role in a 2001 episode of The Sopranos (“The Telltale Moozadell”). While in high school at the Covent of the Sacred Heart in Manhattan, Gaga won lead roles in the productions of Guys and Dolls and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.

Known for her inventive and theatrical music videos, Gaga recently released a clip for “Marry the Night.” At nearly 14 minutes, the video is her longest to date and includes the line, “I’m gonna be a star. You know why? Because I have nothing left to lose.”
Gaga will appear with DeGeneres on the Friday, Dec. 9 episode of her show. In the interview, DeGeneres also questions why the wildly successful artist refuses to purchase real estate.

“I’m a gypsy, ya know. I can’t plan my life out like that so much,” she says. “Then I think, ‘Well, gosh what a waste of money to buy a place and I’m on the road.’ Even though it might not seem like a big deal because I’m a pop singer or whatever, it still hurts to write a check. It’s a lot of money.”
“We were laughing; everybody was laughing because when I signed my tax returns this year, I had to get completely wasted,” she added with a laugh. “They were just holding me up. It’s unbelievable.”
On Wednesday, Lady Gaga was named No. 30 on The Hollywood Reporter’s 20th annual Women in Entertainment Power 100 list.
