'Last Call With Carson Daly' Heading to South by Southwest
The series will host a showcase spotlighting six emerging artists on March 14 and air highlights from the festival starting March 19.
Clearly, Carson Daly has found a way to get NBC to foot the bill for his trip to the annual Austin music festival, South by Southwest.
NBC announced on Friday that its music-centric late night show, Last Call With Carson Daly, in partnership with Sony Entertainment Network’s Music Unlimited Service will host its first-ever showcase of emerging artists on Wednesday, March 14 at 8 p.m. CT.
“South by Southwest week is my favorite time of the year," Daly says. "I'm like a kid in the candy store. It's a magnet for new music and is a perfect fit with Last Call's commitment to help expose new talent."
Tennis, Roll the Tanks, Thee Oh Sees, Lee Fields and the Expressions, Bomba Estero and the Cults will perform in Last Call’s showcase at Austin’s Red 7 Patio.
Additionally, the late night show will spotlight the festival for a week starting with Monday, March 19’s episode. Interviews are yet to be announced, but could possibly include reunions for The Voice host and the show’s contestants performing at the festival.
The episodes will also re-broadcast the following day on Fuse.
Last Call With Carson Daly airs weeknights at 1:35 a.m. and The Voice airs Mondays at 8 p.m. on NBC.
