Sony Pictures Television has found its new drama head.

Lauren Stein has been promoted from senior vp drama development to exec vp and head of the department, The Hollywood Reporter has confirmed.

Announced via an internal memo from Sony Pictures Television Studios co-presidents Chris Parnell, Jason Clodfelter and Jeff Frost, Stein is the latest to be promoted as part of Sony Pictures Entertainment chairman and CEO Tony Vinciquerra's restructuring of his exec team following the departures of Zack Van Amburg and Jamie Erlicht for Apple.

Stein takes over the role that was previously held by Clodfelter and Parnell. The duo were tapped to lead creative as co-presidents of SPTS with Frost also elevated to oversee the business and development sides of the position. Under the new realignment, Frost will report to Vinciquerra, Parnell and Clodfelter report to Frost, and Stein and comedy head Glenn Adilman will report to Parnell and Clodfelter, who will now oversee drama, comedy, unscripted and syndication.

Stein joined SPT as senior vp drama in 2015 and has worked on series including Timeless, SWAT and The Good Doctor. Before that, she was senior vp drama at Peter Chernin's Chernin Entertainment and vp drama at Universal Media Studios.
