Hawkgirl (Ciara Renée) and Hawkman (Falk Hentschel) have suited up.

The CW has released the first official image of the soul mates at the center of the network's upcoming comic book series spinoff, DC's Legends of Tomorrow, and they're both in their full superhero costume glory. Check out the dark take on the DC Comics characters in the photo, above.

Hawkman, aka Carter Hall, is the latest reincarnation of an Egyptian Prince who is fated to reincarnate throughout time for centuries along with his soul mate, Kendra Saunders (aka Hawkgirl). Both of them can access the powers of the Hawk God, Horus, giving them the ability to fly.

One big difference between the two winged warriors is that Hawkman has been able to retain and remember all the memories from his 5,000 years of past lives, whereas Hawkgirl will not.

“You’ll get a clear picture of what her origin story is and you’ll actually get a chance to see it," executive producer Marc Guggenheim told The Hollywood Reporter at Comic-Con. "Fans of the comics will recognize an awful lot. It’s probably one of the more faithful origins that we’ve told.”

Hawkgirl and Hawkman will first appear together in the Arrow and The Flash crossover event in the fall before moving on to star in DC’s Legends of Tomorrow when it premieres midseason.

"Both Arrow and Flash are helping to set those things up, in both big ways and small ways, which is lovely," executive producer Andrew Kreisberg said at TCA. "Kendra Saunders lives in Central City in The Flash finale. Getting to know her, there's going to be a lot happening leading up to the crossover, which is serving as a [quasi] pilot for Legends."

The Flash season two premieres Tuesday, Oct. 6 at 8 p.m. and Arrow season four premieres Wednesday, Oct. 7 at 8 p.m. on The CW. DC's Legends of Tomorrow will debut in midseason.
