Lifetime Orders Hybrid Unscripted Series 'My Life Is a Lifetime Movie'
The female-skewing cable network has ordered seven hourlong episodes that feature re-creations and first-person interviews with women who recount their real-life experiences.
Lifetime has inspired itself.
The female-skewing cable network has picked up seven hourlong episodes of My Life Is a Lifetime Movie, an original hybrid unscripted series focusing on people who could have been the subject of one of its trademark telefilms.
The series, set to debut at 10 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 17, will feature cinematic re-creations and first-person interviews with women in peril who recount their experiences that are said to be so unbelievable that they must be true.
Among the subjects: a young teacher whose life is turned upside down by a student's accusation of sexual misconduct, a married couple whose befriending of a neighbor turns into a fatal attraction and results in a near-death experience and stories of love with a Cuban spy, among others.
The series is inspired by such Lifetime original movies as My Stepson, My Lover; Mother, May I Sleep With Danger; The Pregnancy Pact; Betty Broderick: A Woman Scorned; Mom at 16; and A Date With Darkness.
My Life Is a Lifetime Movie hails from DiGa Partners' Liz Gateley (The Hills, Teen Wolf) and Tony DiSanto (Jersey Shore, Teen Wolf), Jordan Roberts and Jessica Antonini, with Lifetime's Rob Sharenow, Gena McCarthy and Colleen Conway also on board to executive produce.
The series marks the latest in Lifetime's unscripted entries including its Vivica A. Fox-hosted hidden-camera series Prank My Mom and Abby's Ultimate Dance Competition.
