Lillah McCarthy Joins Allison Shearmur Productions

The cable and network development vet will serve as the company's head of television operations.

Television development vet Lillah McCarthy has joined Allison Shearmur Productions.

She will be the head of the growing company’s television operations, which has a first-look deal with Lionsgate. Allison Shearmur Productions is currently executive producing the ABC musical remake of Dirty Dancing, in association with Lionsgate TV. On the film side, Shearmur is currently producing Rogue One: A Star Wars Story and executive producing Power Rangers, Lionsgate’s adaptation of the long-running television franchise. She recently produced Disney’s Cinderella, as well as the forthcoming thriller Nerve, starring Dave Franco and Emma Roberts.

McCarthy has been instrumental in the development of numerous original series over the past 12 years at TNT and TBS, most recently serving as the cable network’s senior vp of original programming. She shepherded such hits as The Closer, starring Kyra Sedgwick, along with Falling SkiesRizzoli & Isles and The Last Ship. Prior to her years at TBS and TNT, McCarthy was the executive producer of the CBS drama Early Edition, starring Kyle Chandler, as well as numerous pilots, both comedies and dramas, while under an overall deal with Sony Television.
