Margo Martindale to Play Will Arnett's Mom in CBS Comedy
The "Justified" Emmy winner has been tapped to co-star in the network's "unauthorized" Greg Garcia pilot.
Margo Martindale is heading to CBS.
The Justified Emmy winner has joined the cast of the network's so-called "unauthorized" Greg Garcia comedy pilot, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
STORY: TV Pilots 2013: The Complete Guide
The multi-camera comedy centers on a recently divorced man named Jack (Up All Night's Will Arnett), whose life gets more complicated when his parents have marital problems of their own.
Martindale will play Carol, Jack's mother, a vibrant but meddlesome and controlling woman who has her finger in every pie. Shocked to learn that her son has been divorced for months, she is even more stunned when she learns that Tom, her husband of 43 years, follows suit on a whim and leaves her -- prompting her to move in with her son.
Raising Hope's Garcia will write and executive produce the show, with veteran director James Burrows on board to helm the CBS Television Studios entry.

The casting comes at a particularly busy time for Martindale. The actress was recently tapped for a guest role on Fox's New Girl, playing Nick's (Jake Johnson) mother. The actress can currently be seen on FX's recently renewed Soviet spy drama The Americans, where she's recurring in an eight-episode arc. The Gersh-repped actress can also be seen in the feature Beautiful Creatures, the upcoming film adaptation of August: Osage County and Showtime's Masters of Sex.
