Mark Cuban's AXS TV Spotlighting 'World's Greatest Tribute Bands' (Exclusive)
The network devoted to live entertainment will air 12 weeks of concert performances from the Roxy Theatre.
AXS TV is ready to rock out to some of the top tribute bands.
The network, which was developed by Mark Cuban to feature live entertainment, has ordered a new live-music series called The World's Greatest Tribute Bands. It pays tributes to the legendary sounds, songs and artists especially of the 1960s, '70s and '80s.
The one-hour weekly series, premiering March 4, will feature 12 weeks of concert performance from the Roxy Theatre on Sunset Boulevard in West Hollywood, Calif.
Acts will include Britain’s Finest (The Beatles, March 4), The Ultimate Stones (The Rolling Stones, March 11), The Who Revue (The Who, March 18). Additional tributes include Elton John, AC/DC, Van Halen, Journey, The Doors, Queen, U2, Metallica and Fleetwood Mac. Fans can get free tickets to the concerts here.
The show will be hosted by Katie Daryl, who has hosted HDNet’s True Music and been a correspondent for TMZ on TV, among other credits.
"As a music network and a fan’s network, The World’s Greatest Tribute Bands has no better home than AXS TV," Cuban said. "Our audience will not believe their eyes and ears when they set they see and hear these bands in full tribute to legendary artists every music lover knows. And of course, 100 percent live."
AXS TV previously aired live concerts from Linkin Park, Aerosmith, Daughtry, Pitbull, Sara Evans and Alanis Morissette and also participated in the Global Citizens Festival with The Black Keys; 121212 Concert with Bruce Springsteen, Paul McCartney and more; and Bud Light Port Paradise Music Festival with Far East Movement, Wiz Khalifa and Flo Rida.
AXS TV is using Twitter as the main social campaign to connect viewers, share tune in and promotions.
