The Hollywood Reporter has learned that Mary J. Blige and Gavin DeGraw have just signed on to perform at the event’s gala on Saturday, which is being filmed as part of a one-hour CBS Sports special airing adjacent to NFL Football on Sunday.
The Skifest will pair U.S. Olympic medalists Phil and Steve Mahre, Tommy Moe, and Heidi Voelker with celebrities for a weekend of skiing and live music. The event benefits Robert F. Kennedy Jr.’s Waterkeeper Alliance, an organization that protects fresh water resources around the world. In recent years, the Skifest has consistently raised more than $500,000 for the cause.
To date, the event’s confirmed celebrity skiers include Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., Larry David (Curb Your Enthusiasm), Mark Feurerstein (Royal Pains), Patrick Warburton (Rules of Engagement), Hill Harper (CSI: NY), Cheryl Hines (Suburgatory), and Kris Polaha (Ringer).
Juma Entertainment produces the Deer Valley Celebrity Skifest for CBS. Bob Horowitz (The Singing Bee, Ochocinco: The Ultimate Catch) is creator and executive producer of the event. Lewis Fenton also serves as an executive producer.
The event takes place this Friday through Monday in Park City, Utah. Visit www.dvskifest.com for more information.
