Matthew Perry's 'Odd Couple' Sets 'Go On' Reunion
Sarah Baker, who recurred on NBC's short-lived comedy, will play Oscar's assistant in the reboot CBS reboot.
CBS' Matthew Perry-led Odd Couple reboot is staging a Go On reunion.
Actress Sarah Baker has boarded the network's comedy pilot, reuniting with her former co-star, Perry, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Perry plays Oscar Madison in the half-hour comedy based on Neil Simon's Broadway play. Baker will play Sam (short for Samantha), Oscar's assistant who spends most of her workday on the phone, apologizing to assorted high and mighty people who have been offended by his latest splenetic rant. A woman of tact and polish -- two concepts that never enter into Oscar's bullheaded professional life -- Sam has one or two little issues that make her a less than ideal employee: She has no short-term memory and can't even remember to write down notes to herself.
The Friends alum will pen the script with Joe Keenan (Glee, Frasier). Perry will also executive produce the CBS Television Studios comedy alongside Timberman-Beverly's Carl Beverly and Sarah Timberman as well as The Tannenbaum Co.'s Eric and Kim Tannenbaum.
Baker co-starred on NBC's short-lived Perry-starrer Go On, playing Sonia, a member of the support group Perry's sports talk-radio host was in, who grieved over the death of her cat. Her credits include Sean Saves the World, Modern Family, Bones and Free Radio. She's repped by Pakula/King & Associates and 3 Arts.
