In a new monthly series benefiting Film Independent, Jason Reitman will direct a live reading of classic films at the L.A. County Museum of Art.

Are you ready for a new Brat Pack?
The Office's Mindy Kaling, Apartment 23's James Van Der Beek and United States of Tara's Patton Oswalt are among the actors set to participate in a live reading of the 1985 John Hughes classic The Breakfast Club.
Up in the Air writer-director Jason Reitman is casting actors to participate in a live table reading of the film that starred Molly Ringwald, Emilio Estevez, Judd Nelson, Anthony Michael Hall and Ally Sheedy set for Thursday at the Los Angeles County Museum of Art. (Update: Jennifer Garner and Aaron Paul have also been added to the all-star cast.)
As part of the new monthly Film Independent (the nonprofit group which produces the Spirit Awards and the L.A. Film Festival) series at LACMA, Reitman will present a series of live readings of classic and beloved films, with Breakfast Club set for Thursday.
So far, the cast includes Kaling in Sheedy's role as "the kook" Allison; Van Der Beek in Estevez's role as Andy "the jock" and Oswalt in Hall's role as Brian "the brain." Also cast is Juno's J.K. Simmons as Carl the janitor in the role originated by John Kapelos.
Stay tuned to Reitman's Twitter page for news on who will read John Bender's (Nelson) famous "Eat my shorts" line.
Tickets for the event are sold out but a stand-by line will begin forming at 6 p.m. at the Hammer Pavilion at LACMA. The event begins at 7:30 p.m. at the Bing Theater.
Additional details can be found at LACMA's website.
