Vh1’s Behind the Music returns to TV on Wednesday night with a brand new season, taking viewers inside the world of Missy Elliott.

STORY: Vh1 Bringing Back 'Behind The Music'

For the first of seven new episodes, the music documentary series will take an in-depth look at Elliott’s rise to stardom. Watch a sneak peek below in which Elliott recalls her first interactions with the late Aaliyah and Sean “Diddy” Combs. There are a total of three preview videos available on the Vh1 website.

Elliott made headlines recently after opening up about her battle with Graves disease, which she will discuss in detail on the show. She will also make mention of her battle with weight and being sexually molested as a child.

Celebrating its 14^th anniversary this year, the series will also feature Ice Cube, Miranda Lambert, Mary J. Blige, Enrique Iglesias, Adam Lambert and Ricky Martin.

Behind the Music airs Wednesdays at 10 p.m. on Vh1.
