MTV Renews 'Catfish' for Third Season
The Nev Schulman and Max Joseph-hosted series returns for more episodes.
MTV has renewed Catfish for a third season.
In a video posted on Facebook, hosts Nev Schulman and Max Joseph announced the renewal for their reality series. "Catfish season three! yay!" the two enthusiastically reveal.
Catfish, a spinoff of the 2010 feature, follows a small documentary crew as they help individuals determine if the people they've met online are really who they claim to be.
The series wrapped its second season with an Oct. 15 finale that averaged 1.9 million viewers, followed by a reunion special.
Originally posted Oct. 17, two days after the season ended, the video announcement is the latest move by broadcast and cable networks to use social media to divulge key news. Since the post date, the video has been liked more than 8,000 times.
