MTV's 'Happyland' Promotes 'Lying Game' Alum to Series Regular (Exclusive)
MTV's Happyland has made Ryan Rottman a happy man.
The Lying Game alum, who guest-starred in the pilot from writer Ben Epstein, has been promoted to series regular, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Soapy teen comedy Happyland explores the underbelly of one of the country's most popular theme parks and those who work there. The series centers on Lucy (The Fosters' Bianca Santos), a cynical teen whose mother makes a living as a fairy tale princess and examines the realities of growing up and falling in love while living in a make-believe world. Smash's Neil Meron and Craig Zadan executive produce.
Rottman guest-starred in the pilot as Theodore Chandler, the handsome, Armani-clad, well-bred and well-mannered older son of the president of Happyland Theme Park, who serves as its creative director.
Repped by APA, Principato Young and Sloane Offer, Rottman's credits also include 90210, The House Bunny and The Open Road.
Happyland will premiere this year, though a specific date has yet to be determined.
