NBC Adds Comedy Pilot From 'Rules of Engagement' EP
"Welcome to the Family" marks the network's 11th comedy pilot this season.
NBC is continuing to bet big on comedy this pilot season, picking up a project from a writer/executive producer from Rules of Engagement.
Mike Sikowitz, whose credits also include Grounded for Life and The Class, will write and executive produce Welcome to the Family. The single-camera comedy from Sony Pictures Television revolves around a white family and Latino family bonded together by their children who fall in love and the resulting in a quick unplanned pregnancy.

The project joins a swelling roster of comedies at NBC, including Jason Katims' About a Boy, Assistance, Donor Party, The Gates, Girlfriend in a Coma, Holding Patterns, Joe, Joe and Jane and a project from Greg Daniels as well as a Sean Hayes vehicle.
