NBC's Charlaine Harris Drama 'Redliners' Casts Its Lead
NBC's Redliners has found its leading lady.
Boss alum Hannah Ware has been tapped to star in the drama pilot from True Blood author Charlaine Harris, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Based on short stories by Harris (NBC's Midnight, Texas), the high-octane project mixes humor, romance and espionage. It centers on a pair of former operatives who get reactivated and drawn into a larger conspiracy while attempting to maintain their undercover lives.
Ware will star as Anne Dewitt, a fiercely intelligent, formidably lethal, charmingly mysterious force of nature. One of Anne’s many secrets is that she is an ex-teacher/trainer (in the fine art of assassination) for a Blackwater-like security firm known as The Service.
Shaun Cassidy will pen the script alongside Kelly Sue DeConnick. The duo will executive produce alongside David Janollari and Jason Ensler, with the latter on board to direct the pilot for Universal Television.
Ware, the sister of British singer Jessie Ware, counts ABC's short-lived drama Betrayal among her credits. She also played Kelsey Grammer's estranged daughter on Starz's critically praised drama Boss. The actress is repped by CAA, Liebman Entertainment and Schreck Rose.
