NBC Slates 'Sound of Music Live!' Encore
True to its plan, the network will re-air the three-hour event on Dec. 14.
NBC has set an airdate for The Sound of Music Live! encore.
The three-hour television event, which attracted 18.6 million viewers live on Dec. 5, will re-air Saturday, Dec. 14, from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT.
That means that the previously scheduled airing of the Christmas classic It's a Wonderful Life will instead air on Friday, Dec. 20, from 8-11 p.m. ET/PT.
The news also comes one day after NBC Entertainment chairman Robert Greenblatt announced that the network was committed to staging another live musical production for the 2014 holiday season with Sound of Music producers Craig Zadan and Neil Meron.
