Neil Patrick Harris Joins 'Live' as Guest Co-Host
The "How I Met Your Mother" star will follow Jerry Seinfeld in the show's post-Regis Philbin era.
Neil Patrick Harris will suit up for Live! With Kelly.
The How I Met Your Mother star has been tapped to co-host Live for five shows set for Nov. 28-Dec. 2.
Harris follows Jerry Seinfeld in the co-hosting duties alongside Kelly Ripa, who inked a new five-year contract last week to remain on the morning talk show.

Harris will become the show's first weeklong co-host in the show's post-Regis Philbin era. Philbin will sign off from Live on Friday with an hourlong tribute when the longtime host will reflect on his tenure on the series and discuss his plans for the future. Seinfeld will step in for the abbreviated Thanksgiving week, hosting three days next week.
Philbin, who announced he'd sign off in mid-November, reassured viewers at the time that the show will go on. Seinfeld and Harris are the first of what likely will be months of a somewhat audition period for the new co-host gig opposite Ripa.

With her new five-year deal, Ripa and Disney-ABC Domestic Television have committed to produce the series through 2017.
Harris has been a frequent guest and has co-hosted the series with Ripa on multiple occasions. Guests set to appear during his Live stint include a roster of TV talent including Betty White, Maya Rudolph, Marcia Cross, Angie Harmon and Kristen Johnson.
Harris has also hosted the Tonys and Emmys, among other awards shows.
