'New Girl' Adds Carla Gugino for 3-Episode Arc

A network rep confirms to The Hollywood Reporter that Carla Gugino (Political Animals) has been cast to play his colleague, and, as EW first reported, they enter a kinky relationship that seems to reference Fifty Shades of Grey.

The three-episode arc, which kicks off in episode seven of the upcoming run, finds Gugino playing the mild-mannered Emma who reveals herself to be something of a freak, when she contractually binds him to her.

It's the latest in a long string of recent TV gigs for Gugino. After wrapping her recurring role on Entourage, she had an arc on Californication and recently starred in USA's Political Animals miniseries. She's repped by CAA.

New Girl returns to Fox on Sept. 25, with two new episodes at 8 and 9 p.m., before settling in at just 9 p.m. the following Tuesday.
