'Newsroom' Adds Marcia Gay Harden to Replace Rosemarie DeWitt
She'll recur as a litigator who defends ACN in a wrongful-termination lawsuit in season two of the Aaron Sorkin drama.
That was fast.
Mere days after Rosemarie DeWitt parted ways with HBO's The Newsroom, Marcia Gay Harden has been tapped to replace her in the Aaron Sorkin drama.
The former United States of Tara co-star originally was cast in a recurring role for the show's second season, playing Rebecca Halliday, a litigator who defends the fictional Atlantis Cable News channel when it becomes embroiled in a wrongful-termination lawsuit.
DeWitt parted ways with the series Jan. 17, citing scheduling conflicts. Harden will film the scenes DeWitt already had shot and continue on with the series.
The Into the Wild actress' TV credits also include arcs on Law & Order: SVU, Royal Pains and Damages. Harden is repped by UTA, Framework and Schreck Rose.
