The Numbers and Rescue Me actress has sold a semi-autobiographical comedy to NBC based on her best-selling memoir Kissing Outside the Lines, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Published in September, Kissing explores Farr's marriage to a Korean-American, with the pitch revolving around an Italian girl and a Korean guy who fall in love in California despite their parents, who will do anything to stop their relationship. Tested by race, culture and a generational divide, the single-camera comedy will be set inside a Venice Beach bar.

Farr -- who recently booked an arc on the final season of ABC's Private Practice, will write and executive produce the NBC Universal effort alongside Men of a Certain Age's Warren Hutcherson.

Farr, a frequent contributor to publications including Glamour, Esquire, Maxim and Cosmopolitan, among others, is a syndicated columnist for the International Herald Tribune whose first book, 2001's The Girl Code, has been sold in seven countries and translated into five languages.

The project marks the latest semi-autobiographical sale this development season, joining entries from Ben Stiller, Ty Burrell, Private Practice's Kate Walsh and Rachel Zoe, among others.

Farr is repped by UTA and Nelson Felker; Hutcherson (Moesha, The Bernie Mac Show) is with UTA and Schreck Rose.
