'Nurse Jackie's' Peter Facinelli to Star in NBC's 'Odyssey'
He joins a cast that includes "Pushing Daisies" alum Anna Friel and "The Carrie Diaries" favorite Jake Robinson.
NBC's Traffic-like thriller has found its male lead.
Nurse Jackie and Twilight alum Peter Facinelli has been tapped to star in the drama from writer/executive producer Peter Horton, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.
Odyssey centers on three families who are torn apart when a stranded female soldier, a disillusioned corporate attorney and a disrespected political activist are pulled into the same shocking international military conspiracy.
Facinelli will play Peter, the family man with a new house and job. Once a prosecuting attorney, he now works in business intelligence, legally investigating on behalf of his Wall Street firm. A man with an inquisitive streak, happy with his wife and two kids, he's assigned to investigate a company before a potential merger and finds what appears to be a trail of blood stretching from Reno to Africa.
He'll star opposite Pushing Daisies alum Anna Friel and The Carrie Diaries' Jake Robinson.
The Following's Adam Armus and Kay Foster will pen the script and executive produce alongside Horton, who will direct the pilot and pen episodes should the project move forward.
Facinelli, a series regular on Nurse Jackie, has been a busy man between seasons of the Showtime dramedy, having filmed all the Twilight features while the series has been on hiatus. The sixth season of the Edie Falco starrer has completed production ahead of its return later this year and no deals have been made for a potential seventh season.
Facinelli is repped by APA, Intellectual Artists Management and attorney Barry Littman.
