CBS' Criminal Minds is welcoming back one of its own.

After losing leading man Shemar Moore last season, the veteran procedural will see Paget Brewster return for its upcoming 12th season.

The news, announced Thursday during a CBS fan favorites panel at San Diego Comic-Con, will see the actress reprise her role as SSA Emily Prentiss for a multiple-episode run.

“The BAU can use more help this year since they’ve got a lot of known and unknown subjects to catch,” said Criminal Minds showrunner Erica Messer.

Brewster was a regular on the CBS drama from seasons two through seven. She was credited as a special guest in season nine and returned last season as part of the storyline that saw star Moore exit the series after 11 seasons. Brewster most recently starred on Fox's short-lived John Stamos comedy Grandfathered.

To help make up for the void, the drama cast CSI: Miami grad Adam Rodriguez as a series regular. He debuts in the season 12 premiere.
