'The Flash' Zips Through Town in New Official Poster
The CW's 'Arrow' spinoff debuts key art ahead of the October debut
The CW has unveiled the official poster for The Flash.
Unveiled Tuesday, the new key art for The CW's Arrow spinoff features Barry Allen (Grant Gustin) in his red suit zipping through a darkened Central City street with a lightning streak behind him and several Easter eggs. (Can you spot all 10?) The new tagline, "Discover what makes a hero," hints at Barry's journey to becoming a superhero.
Expect Arrow's Stephen Amell to be making an appearance as Oliver Queen in The Flash's first episode, with planned crossovers between the two DC Comics shows during the shows' eighth episodes.
In a chat with The Hollywood Reporter, Gustin said that Barry Allen/The Flash "will probably forever be my favorite character that I'll ever get to play." And Gustin may not be wrong. The Flash pilot dazzled in its first public screenings at San Diego's Comic-Con, where the Hall H crowd was enthused by its ambitious special effects.
The Flash centers on a Central City assistant police forensic investigator who visits Starling City to look into a series of unexplained robberies that may have a connection to a tragedy in his past. Through a freak accident, he is given the power of superspeed, which transforms him into the fastest man alive.
Danielle Panabaker, Carlos Valdes, Jesse L. Martin, Candice Patton, Tom Cavanagh, Rick Cosnett and John Wesley Shipp also star. Key DC characters heading to The Flash include Robbie Amell as half of Firestorm, Wentworth Miller as Captain Cold and Clancy Brown as The General.
The Flash premieres Oct. 7 on The CW.
