WGN America's 'Manhattan' Official Posters Revealed
The network's second scripted series stars John Benjamin Hickey and premieres July 27.
WGN America's Manhattan has three official posters.
Situated against the backdrop of the greatest race against time in the history of science — the mission to build the world’s first atomic bomb in Los Alamos — New Mexico-set Manhattan follows the brilliant but flawed scientists and their families as they attempt to coexist in a world where secrets and lies infiltrate every aspect of their lives. John Benjamin Hickey (The Big C) plays Frank Winter, the professor who is commissioned to help lead the Manhattan Project.
The tagline for Manhattan — "Nuclear. Family." — is a play on the ideals of the 1940s, during which the series takes place. Prominently featured in the first poster is a large atomic bomb after striking a small town, leaving a trail of destruction. Another one-sheet takes on the dual meaning of the series' tagline, with a family staring up at a smoke silhouette of an atomic bomb. The second poster pays homage to wartime propaganda of the '40s, when public trust was a major factor.
Olivia Williams, Daniel Stern, Ashley Zukerman, Rachel Brosnahan, Christopher Denham, Katja Herbers, Harry Lloyd, Michael Chernus and Alexia Fast co-star. Manhattan, the network's second scripted drama, hails from Sam Shaw (Masters of Sex) and is directed by Thomas Schlamme (The West Wing).
Manhattan premieres July 27 on WGN America.
