Pretty Little Liars didn’t waste any time solving one of season seven’s biggest mysteries.

Four episodes in, the Freeform show revealed who the Liars were burying in the season’s opening scene: Dr. Elliott Rollins (Huw Collins).

It wasn’t a full-blown murder like the girls seemed to be alluding to as they buried him — it was more like a happy accident. Alison DiLaurentis (Sasha Pieterse) was able to resist some of the drugs that Elliott was giving her and sent an S.O.S. text out and a location tracker before he took her out of the mental hospital. She faked being asleep, and then was able to attack him and flee the car in the middle of the woods.

The Liars were hot on their trail, but they weren’t able to catch Ali. Instead, as Elliott was chasing her, they ran right into them with their car and he flew into the windshield, dying immediately upon impact.

Because of Elliott’s untimely death, he will be unable to give the Liars the truth about his relationship with Mary Drake (Andrea Parker) or tell them if he is A.D., but he also won’t be able to torture Ali anymore.

Earlier this season, executive producer Charlie Craig tried to hint that Hanna (Ashley Benson) could be in the grave, but now it’s clear that the Liars are just burying Elliott. However, Craig also revealed that Mary and Elliott’s backstory will be explored throughout the season, explaining “what their relationship was, how that related to Charlotte and how they met.”

Pretty Little Liars airs on Tuesdays at 8 p.m. on Freeform.
