'Real Housewives of New York' Returns in June With Three New Women (Video)
Bravo introduces new Big Apple cast members Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson for season five.
After a very controversial cast shakeup and much speculation, Bravo officially announces the three new women on The Real Housewives of New York’s fifth season premiering Monday, June 4 at 9 p.m.

They are Aviva Drescher, Carole Radziwill and Heather Thomson. They’ll join returning cast members LuAnn de Lesseps, Sonja Morgan and Ramona Singer for what looks to be a wild season in the city.
Aviva’s last name may sound familiar to you: She’s The Nanny and Happily Divorced star Fran Drescher’s cousin. The socialite holds the distinction of being the series' first-ever housewife to be born and raised in NYC. The mother of four and wife to an investment banker lost her left leg in a farm accident when she was six-years-old. She’s the national spokesperson for One Step Ahead, an organization for amputees, an advisory board member of Cancer Schmancer/Trash Cancer and works with the Live4Life Foundation.
Carole is an author and journalist. She has worked at ABC News with Peter Jennings’ documentary unit, PrimeTime Live and 20/20. She has won three Emmys, a Robert F. Kennedy Humanitarian award, and a GLADD award. With a New York Times bestselling memoir titled What Remains under her belt, the single New Yorker is now working on a novel and contributing to Glamour Magazine.
Heather is a fashion businesswoman and celebrity stylist who created the shapewear line, Yummy. The mother of two has worked with Jennifer Lopez, Beyoncé, and Sean “Diddy” Combs.
The three women replace Alex McCord, Jill Zarin, Cindy Barshop, and Kelly Killoren Bensimon who were fired last September.
