'Real Housewives' Gretchen Rossi Slams Reports She Called Tamra Barney's Engagement a Sham (Video)
"The press just made this up," the Bravo star says in a recent interview.
Gretchen Rossi isn’t happy with the media after spreading reports that she believed that her Real Housewives of Orange County cast mate Tamra Barney’s engagement is a sham.

“I think because Tamra and I have been at each other’s necks the last few years,” Gretchen tells CNN. “[And] I think a lot of people were expecting an engagement between Slade and I and when that didn’t happen and all of a sudden Tamra’s engaged, I think that the press just made this up.”
After Tamra, 44, confirmed her engagement to boyfriend of two years, 39-year-old businessman, Eddie Judge, TMZ reported that a source close to Gretchen claimed that she was telling friends that the engagement was a sham in cooperation with Bravo.
Furthermore, the sources say that Gretchen’s boyfriend, Slade Smiley, ultimately turned down an offer from Bravo to have his proposal filmed complete with an exotic locale and free ring -- a deal the reports says that Tamra and Eddie ultimately accepted.

“The truth of the matter is I didn’t even know Slade was considering asking me to marry him,” Gretchen argues. “I mean, bottom line, the audience likes the fight, to think that Tamra and I are at each other’s necks angry at each other.”
Gretchen says all that couldn’t be further from the truth and that she’s not only happy for Tamra, but she’s throwing her cast mate's bachelorette party.
A Bravo spokesperson tells The Hollywood Reporter, “The report is completely inaccurate.”
