'Private Practice's' Kate Walsh Developing Semi-Autobiographical Comedy at NBC

The network has given script orders for The Club, a comedy set in the golf world, The Hollywood Reporter has learned exclusively.

Retired at 35's Chris Case will pen the script and executive produce the multicamera effort, which hails from CBS Television Studios. Eric and Kim Tannenbaum are on board to executive produce the comedy via their Tannenbaum Co. shingle.

The Club revolves around a flamed-out bad-boy golf pro and the out-of-control employees at a country club who are forced to change their ways when the owner brings in a no-nonsense woman to run the place.

The comedy marks the second sale this development sale for Case, who also is attached to a semi-autobiographical family comedy with girlfriend Kate Walsh that's set up at NBC.

For their part, the Tannenbaums have had a busy development season. In addition to their CBS pilot Ex-Men with Kal Penn, the duo most recently have sold Meridian Hills, a women's lib drama to The CW; and Solve for X with Ilene Chaiken also at CBS. The Tannenbaums also have the midseason comedy Friend Me awaiting a premiere date at CBS.

Case, whose credits also include Reba, Spin City and Mad About You, is repped by CAA, Evolution Entertainment and Morris Yorn.
