'Ringer': Ioan Gruffudd Reveals When His Character Could Find Out His Wife's Secret (Video)
The actor tells THR that theories have already started popping up on how the the CW drama, which launched last week, will play out.
Last week, viewers were introduced to the complicated world of Ringer -- and saw that not every character is on the same page, especially when speaking of Bridget's unexpected insertion into twin sister SIobhan's (both played by Sarah Michelle Gellar) wealthy lifestyle.
Siobhan's husband Andrew, played by Ioan Gruffudd, may be clueless to the switcheroo, but as he tells The Hollywood Reporter, the unfamiliarity is exactly what makes the show tick.
"The audience has been let in on this fantastic secret that my wife isn't my wife. It is in fact my wife's twin sister that's pretending to be my wife," Gruffudd says. But Gruffudd believes it's "important that he doesn't" know what's really going on.
"There might be an occasion down the road, maybe the end of the season, or end of Season 5 if we go that long, that he'll find out, but for the time being, I think it's important for the cliffhanger week in and week out that he doesn't find out," he says.
But he says that theories have already surfaced on how things will play out. "It sparks an interest, I think, in the show," he believed.
Speaking to the show's many men, Gruffudd joked, "I'm just thrilled [Siobhan] chose me in the first place to be her husband."
Ringer airs Tuesdays at 9 p.m. on the CW.
