The CW's Riverdale has enlisted a key member of the Brat Pack.

Molly Ringwald has booked a recurring guest role on the forthcoming Greg Berlanti drama, The Hollywood Reporter has learned.

Riverdale is set in present day and based on the iconic Archie Comics characters. It revolves around Archie (KJ Apa), Betty (Lili Reinhart), Veronica (Camila Mendes), Jughead Jones (Cole Sprouse), Josie (Ashleigh Murray) and their friends and explores the surrealism of small-town life — the darkness and weirdness bubbling beneath Riverdale's wholesome façade.

Ringwald will portray the key role of Mary Andrews, Archie's mother. Having left Riverdale two years ago to follow her dreams, Mary returns to town in her family's hour of need. She not only reconnects with Archie and her husband, Fred (played by Beverly Hills, 90210 alum Luke Perry), but also her former high school gal-pals Hermione and Alice, just in time for a homecoming dance. Ringwald is slated to appear in episodes 10 and 11.

In addition to '80s film hits Sixteen Candles, The Breakfast Club and Pretty in Pink, Ringwald's recent TV credits include The Secret Life of the American Teenager, Odd Mom Out and Raising Expectations. She is repped by Untitled Entertainment and Barking Dog Entertainment.

Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa penned the pilot script and executive produces Riverdale alongside Berlanti, Sarah Schechter and Jon Goldwater. The series premieres Thursday, Jan. 26, at 9 p.m. ET/PT. Watch the trailer, below.
