Under the deal, Dyrdek will develop a new pilot for MTV, in addition to continuing his current shows. Rob Dyrdek's Fantasy Factory, which was originally supposed to end its run after the sixth season (MTV issued a release last September announcing the end), is being brought back for a seventh season. Viral video series Ridiculousness, returning for season five, and competition cooking series Snack-Off premiere Thursday, July 10 at 10 p.m. and 10:30 p.m. PT/ET, the latter receiving a one-hour debut.

Dyrdek's history with MTV dates back to 2006, when he starred and executive produced the reality series Rob & Big, which ended in 2008. Fantasy Factory, which follows Dyrdek and his friends on outrageous adventures, began in 2009 and is entering season seven. Season six averaged 1.5 million viewers and a 1.4 rating among 12-34 on Thursdays. Ridiculousness launched a year later in 2010 and its fourth season was Thursday's No. 1 original cable series, averaging 1.8 million viewers and a 1.5 rating.

“Rob Dyrdek is an essential part of MTV. From Rob & Big to Fantasy Factory, Ridiculousness and now Snack-Off, Rob has an undeniable appeal to millennials,” said MTV president of programming Susanne Daniels. “He is a creative force with a unique ability to connect with the audience — whether he is in front of or behind the camera.  We are truly thrilled to continue our long and successful relationship with Rob.”

“MTV has a been a great partner over the years. I’m truly grateful for the platform they’ve provided for me to create and refine compelling, entertaining media at the highest level. This next chapter will allow myself, Shane Nickerson, and the rest of the Super Jacket team to scale our style of production — inspiring people and making them laugh. We look forward to continually delivering amazing content for years to come,” said Dyrdek.

Dyrdek also executive produces and lends his voice to Nickelodeon's animated series Wild Grinders.

For MTV's part, Dyrdek and his programs shores up an unscripted portfolio that includes The Real World, The Challenge, 16 and Pregant, Teen Mom 2, Snooki and JWoww, Catfish and Ke$ha: My Crazy Beautiful Life.
