Rob Dyrdek on Being 'Punk'd' By Justin Bieber; Returning to His 'Alien' Roots (Video)
The MTV reality star and professional skateboarder tells THR that Bieber’s plan to prank him didn’t exactly turn out as expected.
Rob Dyrdek is known for his outlandish antics throughout a series of MTV reality programs, including Rob & Big, Fantasy Factory and Ridiculousness. So what happens when the tables are turned during an upcoming episode of Punk’d?
“You’ll have to tune in to see,” Dyrdek teased during an interview with The Hollywood Reporter. “I think I might have been the one that ends up winning here.”
“Justin Bieber, I love to death,” Dyrdek said. “He’s such a cool, ridiculous, much crazier kid in real life -- more than he’s really allowed to be, because he’s a Unicorn and very rare.”
“But when I heard he was hosting Punk’d, it never even occurred to me that I would be in the middle of it,” he continued. “I don't think the way he Punk’d me quite turned out what he expected.”
THR stopped by the Fantasy Factory for a tour ahead of Dyrdek’s similarly titled series’ season 5 premiere, scheduled for Monday, March 19 at 10 p.m., with a re-vamped version of Punk’d debuting on Thursday, March 29.
Even after pulling a fast one on his pal, there were no hard feelings between Dyrdek and Bieber. The pop superstar has previously appeared on an episode of Fantasy Factory and recently filmed a guest spot for the upcoming season 2 premiere of Dyrdek’s Ridiculousness.
THR’s conversation with Dyrdek took a surprising turn when the 37-year-old made reference to his extraterrestrial heritage, informing us that he had a landing pad built atop his office for any potential spaceship landings because, “I’m gonna have to get back to the Mother Ship sometime.”
“I’ve got some alien blood in me,” he joked. “I’m talking full board! I had a guy come down here who said not only has he seen me on the Mother Ship, but if he told me who I really was I’d be scared.”
The “guy” in question happens to be Riley Martin, of Howard Stern fame, who claims to have been abducted by aliens multiple times over his 65-years on Earth.
“He said specifically, ‘You have alien DNA. How else do you think all of this is possible,’” Dyrdek explained, motioning to his surroundings inside the Fantasy Factory.
Could all of this alien talk lead to a potential Fantasy Factory storyline? We’ll have to wait and see.
