Robin Roberts Comes Out: What the Stars Are Saying
Michelle Obama, Ellen DeGeneres and Melissa Etheridge were among those praising the "Good Morning America" anchor for being open about her sexuality.
Robin Roberts may have come out of the closet on Facebook, but people were talking about the Good Morning America anchor's revelation on Twitter.
First lady Michelle Obama and Hollywood stars like Ellen DeGeneres and Melissa Etheridge were among those praising her for being open about her sexual orientation.
Roberts publicly disclosed Sunday that she's in a long-term relationship with a woman.
"I am grateful for my entire family, my longtime girlfriend, Amber, and friends as we prepare to celebrate a glorious new year together," she wrote in a Facebook note addressing her health and reflecting on her recovery from a bone-marrow transplant. "I am grateful for the many prayers and well wishes for my recovery. I return every one of them to you 100 fold. On this last Sunday of 2013, I encourage you to reflect on what you are grateful for too."
