Roseanne Roast: Jane Lynch on Serving as Roast Master (Video)
"People are saying some pretty awful things about me," the "Glee" star told THR before the taping of Comedy Central's annual event.
Hosting a show is nothing new for Glee star Jane Lynch; The actress hosted the 2011 Emmys telecast, performing a funny musical opening and keeping the show moving at a brisk clip.
However, taking on the duties of Roast Master for Comedy Central’s roast of Roseanne Barr is a whole new ballgame.

“Well, you want to keep things going, moving things along, but what’s really great about tonight that I didn’t get to do so much during the Emmys is I get to have really funny jokes,” Lynch told The Hollywood Reporter before the taping of the roast on Aug. 4 in Hollywood.
But it won’t be all fun and games for Lynch, who said she’ll also “take some hits” from the other roasters. Among the comedians roasting Barr are Seth Green, Jeffrey Ross, Wayne Brady, Carrie Fisher and Ellen Barkin.
“People are saying some pretty awful things about me from what I understand,” she said. “And I can’t wait.”

Lynch, whose character on Glee Sue Sylvester will return in season four as a mother, also spoke to THR about how motherhood will change the cheerleading coach.
“I think the thing is, Sue Sylvester is pretty set in stone with who she is,” Lynch told THR. “She’s your best friend and your worst enemy. When she has something to fight for, she’s never better.”
Lynch also revealed who she would like to be the “celebrity father” of Sue’s baby, if she could choose. Find out who she chose here.

Comedy Central's roast of Roseanne airs Sunday, Aug. 12, at 10 p.m. ET/PT.
