USA Network Prepping 'Royal Pains' Movie
"Off-Season Greetings," airing Dec. 16, will center on Evan and Paige's upcoming wedding.
USA Network did it with Burn Notice, now it's time for a Royal Pains movie.
The cable network has set a special two-hour telefilm for the Hamptons-set medical drama centered on the upcoming nuptials between Evan (Paulo Costanzo) and Paige (Brooke D'Orsay), titled Off-Season Greetings.
The telepic will feature flashbacks, an unexpected snowstorm and the return of Jill Casey (Jill Flint). It also will show the Hamptons in winter for the first time since the series debuted four seasons ago and will take place several months after the summer finale.
Secrets from the past will be revealed in the flashbacks, which will reveal the backstory of Hank (Mark Feuerstein) and Evan prior to their move to the East Coast and before HankMed was founded. The special will also introduce Hank's first love (Emma Caulfield).
Royal Pains is written and executive produced by Andrew Lenchewski and Michael Rauch. Paul Frank and Rich Frank serve as EPs with Jeff Kwatinetz and Connie Burge. Carol Flint, Jon Sherman, Kerry Orent and Jack Bernstein will co-EP.
USA Network aired a stand-alone Burn Notice TV movie titled The Fall of Sam Axe with Bruce Campbell.
Off-Season Greetings is slated to air at 9 p.m. Sunday, Dec. 16.
