Ryan Seacrest Productions has added a new reality exec.

The company announced Monday that it has hired veteran producer/executive Rabih Gholam to serve as executive vp unscripted programming. He comes by way of 51 Minds, where he produced such series as ABC's Whodunnit?, CBS' Same Name and Fox's Somebody Has to Go as exec vp alternative programming.

In his new gig, Gholam will be responsible for managing development and new TV business opportunities at RSP. He joins an executive team that includes Izzie Pick Ashcroft (executive vp current unscripted), Robert Norris Catto (executive vp production) and Matt Sims (senior vp development). Heather Schuster departed as the company's senior vp development and current unscripted late last year.

"Rabih is a prolific producer and creator of content. He has a keen eye for projects with vast commercial appeal. His intelligence, experience and relationships are sure to energize our growing team at RSP," said RSP president Eugene Young, to whom Gholam will report.

Gholam got his start in the NBC Page program, before cutting his teeth early on in late night at CBS' The Craig Ferguson Show and Fox's Talkshow With Spike Feresten. In the near decade that followed, he produced series including The Surreal Life, The More and Whose Line Is It Anyway?

He joins RSP as the company continues its search for a broad broadcast hit, which, despite an impressive roster, has proved elusive. The current slate includes E!'s Kardashian franchise as well as Shahs of Sunset at Bravo and Webheads at Nickelodeon. On the scripted side, NBC is prepping a Jennifer Lopez vehicle, Shades of Blue, produced by RSP.
