Bill Hader is returning to Saturday Night Live.

Hader, who was a SNL castmember for eight seasons, will go back to Studio 8H as host on Oct. 11, NBC announced on Wednesday.

He scored two Emmy nominations for his work on SNL and is known for his numerous impressions and recurring characters, most notably Stefon. Hader departed at the end of the 38th season in 2013, saying at the time, "It was a hard decision, but it has to happen at some point." Currently, Hader is co-starring opposite SNL alum Kristen Wiig in the indie The Skeleton Twins.

Accompanying Hader will be musical guest Hozier, who is behind the single "Take Me to Church." The Irish singer's debut album hits stores in October.

There will be two additions to the SNL cast this season: Pete Davidson, who will be a featured player, and The Daily Show's Michael Che, who will replace Cecily Strong as "Weekend Update" co-anchor. SNL let go of three castmembers this summer — Brooks Wheelan, Noel Wells and John Milhiser — and parted ways with Nasim Pedrad, who now stars on Fox's Mulaney.

Chris Pratt kicks off the season on Sept. 27 with musical guest Ariana Grande, followed by Sarah Silverman and Maroon 5 on Oct. 4.

SNL is produced in association with Broadway Video. Lorne Michaels is creator and executive producer.
