'Saturday Night Live': Daniel Radcliffe Shows Off An American Accent in Promos (Video)
The "Harry Potter" star will host the sketch comedy show for the first time on Saturday.
Daniel Radcliffe will host Saturday Night Live for the first time on Saturday. Is he up to the task? By the look of the recently released promos, the Harry Potter star may have the magic touch for comedy.
Radcliffe pairs with SNL’s Jason Sudeikis in the clips. In the first, Sudeikis is shocked when he hears Radcliffe speak.
“Are you doing a character? Like a chimney sweep? Are you doing [Kate] Winslet?” asks Sudeikis.
Radcliffe seems to be living out all his post-Potter dreams, having recently completed a sting as the lead in Broadway’s How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, and his first film since the wizarding franchise came to a close, The Woman in Black, is coming out this year.
Several of the skits center around Radcliffe’s Harry Potter days, and Radcliffe clarifies for Sudeikis that the Harry Potter films were not in fact “sex movies.” Radcliffe also shows off an American accent.
“Chill broseph, I like Mountain Dew and big butts!” he says.
Sudeikis may be right on the mark when he tells Radcliffe, “You’re going to fit in great around here buddy.” Radcliffe will host Saturday’s episode with musical guest Lana Del Rey.
It was recently announced that two other actors will make their very first SNL appearances as hosts in February. Channing Tatum and Zooey Deschanel are slated to host next month.
